Marketing & Plan Design

To ensure best value and meet your strategic compensation objectives, our plan design consulting involves in-depth market research and objective factual analysis. The steps of the marketing process include (many of these are concurrent):

  • Strategic Planning: Determine client's short- and long-term employee benefits objectives, challenges and needs; compile market trends; conduct actuarial data analysis; build a strategic plan in collaboration with the client 
  • Actuarial Data Analysis: Analyze claims experience data based on advanced actuarial models; identify areas of over-utilization through claims experience benchmarking analysis; test a variety of plan design alternatives, consumer-driven methods and disease management solutions through predictive modeling; evaluate renewals for rate competitiveness based on national and regional trends
  • Market Exploration: Identify, price and critically evaluate all product options that meet or exceed strategic goals; prepare comprehensive comparison reports and recommendations of viable alternatives; analyze and present new innovative products, emerging practices and techniques aimed at enhancing plan performance; present an objective analysis of recommended carriers and vendors
  • Benchmarking: Perform comparative analysis of recommended plan alternatives and cost sharing strategies versus industry and regional trends and averages
  • Negotiations: Conduct competent negotiations with carriers and vendors to attain the required balance of benefits and costs

Our underwriting and actuarial department conducts specialized analysis and publishes custom reports to optimize plan costs and to provide clients with a deep insight into your plan performance, vendor service quality and employee perception. Our services include:

         Monthly or quarterly claims experience analysis and monitoring of trends

         Annual plan performance and year-end actuarial review

         Quarterly vendor performance assessment

         Predictive modeling: plan designs, CDHPs, disease management programs

Gallagher Reppond provides the following educational services, all coordinated through our Senior Account Manager and Enrollment Coordinator:
